Morphological Summary

Monotypic genus of the Asphodelaceae family, segregated from Aloe. It comprises a single small-sized aloe species with tubular pink flowers. It is endemic to northeastern Africa and the Horn of Africa, where it inhabits arid and semi-arid stony soils.

Distribution Northeastern Africa and Horn of Africa; mainly Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia, in arid stony soils.
Conservation The type species may be threatened by habitat degradation in the Horn of Africa region.
