Rechsteineria

Genus of tuberous gesneriads native to Brazil and South America. Modern taxonomy has transferred most species to Sinningia, though the name Rechsteineria remains widely used in horticulture. Herbaceous plants with a pronounced tuberous caudex, generally velvety leaves, and brightly coloured tubular flowers (reds, pinks, whites) prized as houseplants.
